NIKKI HARLE March 31, 2008
To further prepare its international participants for the stormy financial markets across the world and get ready for a future in a business that is becoming more and more unpredictable, the Theseus-EDHEC MBA launched a knowledge session on Private Equity and Hedge Funds Management.

This course complements the already rich programme with extended knowledge on how one can influence and be influenced by the growing concepts of Private equity and Hedge funds Management.

The session which forms part of the knowledge stream module covers topics such as Hedge Funds Management, Hedging and Market risk management, Private equity management and Investment management was aimed at providing participants with the fundamentals of the concepts of Private equity and Hedge Funds management. As business managers in today's world are faced with various financial and market challenges, such topics that relate to global capital markets and the changing complexities of the global financial markets are essential.

This session has further enriched the content of the Theseus- EDHEC MBA programme and has provided this year's participants with tools to actively participate in the global financial markets. They are now better equipped to handle possible mergers and acquisition financing through private equity and the managing of private and corporate funds for greater returns on investments and better utilisation of corporate funds.

In the words of the course facilitator, Marc Kitten, EDHEC Alumni "The business world of today is so dynamic that any of the Theseus-EDHEC MBA participants can be on either side of the divide as part of the company being acquired by private equity or hedge funds in the acquisition process or be part of the company. It is important for everyone to know what form the financing methods and instruments are available in the global capital markets in today's context and how it will affect everyone in the equation."
