Three Strategic Areas of Focus

EDHEC is already among the top management education and research institutions in Europe. Its development focuses on three areas:

Convergence with the business world:

imageThe business world is at the heart of our programmes. This is experienced directly, when managers and top executives come to EDHEC to pass on their expertise and is also conveyed financially, when they sponsor our academic Chairs and our research centres.

The firm is the source and the object of our research. This link is essential in our programmes where professors and professionals work in close cooperation to transmit their skills and know-how to the business leaders of tomorrow.

International scope:

Today, every manager and business leader needs to have an international perspective. At EDHEC, this is reflected in the:

dozens of different nationalities on the campus, including both students and teaching faculty. EDHEC is like a miniature world where multiculturalism is a daily event.

programmes built around an international perspective that prepare future managers to develop projects with collaborators from around the world, creating a synergy of cultures. The most complete programme in this context is the Grande Ecole Intercontinental Track that sends the students to study on three continents. Other courses and tracks are delivered entirely in English: the Grande Ecole English track, ESPEME's IBM track (International Business and Management), the Theseus-EDHEC MBA, and all 5 MSc programmes. Whatever the programmes or courses, however, the international aspect is continually present.

Academic exchange programmes with 96 foreign partner universities, not only in Europe, but also in America, Asia, Africa and Australia. During these exchange programmes, our students learn to learn' in another culture so as  to better understand later on how to lead multicultural teams.

Numerous work placements abroad to learn about the world of work beyond our borders with its different skills, organisational models, firms and culture.

Research

imageResearch for Business: the goal of management research is initially academic. EDHEC's international standard research is regularly published in leading international academic journals and is disseminated through numerous academic papers. However, this is not enough. The main objective of EDHEC research is to help firms to be more effective, and to develop solutions to the new challenges of our time for business as a whole. EDHEC research also contributes to society through the original responses it develops to the major issues emerging today. This is the choice that EDHEC has made with its Research for Business programme.

To create value for the market, EDHEC research is underpinned by a key principle and a well-structured organisation.

Our principle is to adopt strong positions. EDHEC research develops convictions and proposes operational solutions. Whether it concerns State reforms, employment for seniors, or selling motorways to the private sector, EDHEC provides clear, well-argued and positive responses. EDHEC has become the leading European expert in alternative hedge fund evaluation, for example, and is now looking to make its mark in other sectors.
